Join the Friends of the West Chicago City Museum and the West Chicago Historical Society on Sunday, May 31st at 1:00 p.m. for the Fifth Annual Spring Tea Fundraiser. The event, which will be held at the American Legion, located at 123 Main Street, will feature The Tea Ladies, from the David Davis Mansion in Bloomington, Illinois, presenting “Celebrate Downton Abbey with ‘A Day At An Edwardian Manor.’” As we anxiously await the sixth and final season of Downton Abbey, join us to experience life with our favorite Edwardian family and their servants the Tea Ladies take us through the day, both “upstairs” and “down stairs.” Two very different worlds separate the elite and those who wait on them! Follow the Lord and Lady and their beautiful daughters through the social rigors of the rich and learn how the butler and housekeeper maintains the daily routines and rules of servant life. The Tea Ladies will weave this fascinating story with a display of several stunning fashions of the era!
Join us for this dazzling program; a silent auction will also be held to benefit the Society and the Friends of the Museum. Reservations are required, space is limited; please contact Sara Phalen at 630-231-3376 or wegohistory@gmail.com to reserve your spot today, or stop by the City Museum 132 Main Street, West Chicago, Wednesdays through Friday from noon-4pm to purchase tickets. Tickets are $15.00 a person, which includes a tea lunch and entertainment.
