This year, for our annual 12 Days of Wego History, we’re thrilled to introduce a special series: The 12 Days of West Chicago Artifacts.

If you know us, you know we’re museum people—so of course, narrowing our selection down to just 12 artifacts was impossible. With a collection of nearly 40,000 fascinating pieces of local history, we decided to do what we do best: tell stories.

Over the these 12 days, we’ll be sharing curated groups of artifacts that highlight the rich, layered story of West Chicago—while also connecting to the nationwide commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States.
