West Chicago's Downtown Garden Festival - Join City Museum for the opening of our two new exhibits:
BeWell: A Dialogue of Health and Wellness through History will explore the notions of health and wellness and how they have changed through time.
Visiting Danish artist Diana Velasco will also open her Sense of Place exhibit on May 16, 2015, displaying postcards filled out by residents with memories they have of local places. A selection of photographs of those locations will accompany the memories. Velasco will be at the Museum during Blooming Fest to meet visitors before she heads to the Danish Museum of America in Elk Horn, Iowa, the following week. The visiting artist program is held in collaboration with People Made Visible, Inc.
In addition, City Museum will open the Chicago, Burlinton & Quincey 1860s Depot for visitors to stop in and see some of West Chicago's railroad history. It's FREE, and kids are invited to make a craft and participate in hands-on acitvities taking place at the Depot.
We always have activities for kids at the main museum, too!
